Maintenance Electrical - Two Sections (160 hours/$1076.00) 16.0 CEU’s

Electrical Course Content is completely ONLINE and student must be self-motivated for success. Prerequisites Apply.

Instructs workers in the electrical industry on understanding Code and Safety.  Electrical Courses taught by a master electrician.  David Witherspoon, our founding instructor, will instruct using an Online Subscription Learning Management System.  Recommend students budget $200 to $250 for learning materials and subscription costs paid to the provider for each section.   

 


Section One: (80 hours/$538) 8.0 CEUs

Prerequisite: Employment working for an electrical contractor (or instructor approval). Courses cover minimum requirements for approval of electrical installation as specified by the National Electric Code (NEC). Examination of all aspects of electrical installation from the standpoint of safety for personnel and equipment. Covers principles of electricity including proper use of test equipment, A/C and D/C circuits and component theory and operations. Students are responsible for learning materials and supplies. Section Two: (80 hours/$538) 8.0 CEUs

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Maintenance Electrical Section One and employed working for an electrical contractor (or instructor approval). Presentation of the theory of residential electric circuits. Topics include load calculations and safety in electrical work, installation of wiring, load protection, ground fault, and other devices commonly used in 110 volt household applications. An introductory study of the NEC for those employed in fields requiring knowledge of the Code. Emphasis on wiring design, protection, methods, and materials; equipment for general use; and basic calculations. Students are responsible for learning materials and supplies.
